I am a counselor at a K - 6th grade elementary school. I try to do a big school-wide celebration during Red Ribbon Week. Each year I try to incorporate different themes, ideas, and activities to spread the information to all students. This booklet I am using with my 1st and 2nd graders. Since teaching positive character traits is a year-long focus, being able to incorporate the importance of the character traits along with drug awareness is AWESOME!!!! I really appreciate such a great resource that requires students to use their common core ELA skills and strategies that teachers are teaching in the classroom is great for reinforcement. I love that the students will get to take these booklets home at the end of our unit together.
