National School Bus Safety Week was started in 1963 by Dick Fischer, a long-time pupil transportation consultant and member of the NAPT Hall of Fame, who was instrumental in establishing a national committee for this important event, and eventually received a special commendation from President Nixon in 1970. Today, National School Bus Safety Week is held annually during the third week of October, and celebrated across the country through special activities that include a sponsored nationwide poster contest. Promote school bus safety at your facility and remind students and families about safety rules with our selection of school bus safety products and incentives!
