Recognize the hard work of nurses without knowing them personally
SOLUTION
A volunteer transporter at a day surgery unit saw the challenges the nursing staff faced as they handled about 60 patient surgeries each day. Wanting to do something special for Nurses Week—but not knowing names of nurses on staff—the volunteer ordered a Nursing Raffle Pack from Positive Promotions and gave it to the head nurse, who handed out gifts from it to her staff during Nurses Week.

Celebrate nurses with a different theme each day of Nurses Week

The nurse professional practice committee at a surgical hospital chose a fun theme for each day of Nurses Week and planned activities to match. For example, on Tuesday, so they “donut” forget how important they are to the hospital, nurses were served donuts and coffee. On Thursday, they recognized Florence Nightingale’s birthday with cupcakes. Party favors for nurses that day included 2-Tier Wheat Fiber & Bamboo Bento Boxes from Positive Promotions.

Find an affordable way to celebrate Nurses Week

Members of the nursing team in the surgical and recovery units at a hospital have been celebrating Nurses Week together, for each other, for years. Team members donate the food and prizes for 70 people, so finding inexpensive items is extremely important. In the adult and family services unit of a Social Services department, nurses work alongside a team of caseworkers, home service coordinators, drivers, and support staff. The nurses go out in the field daily to assess the most vulnerable people in the community and make referrals for services. During Nurses Week, the non-nurses on the team showed appreciation for their nurse colleagues by buying them lunch and giving them Briefcase Bags from Positive Promotions. This practical gift holds everything the nurses need for their daily home visits.

Maximize the fun during Nurses Week to brighten days in a nursing home

The HR coordinator in a nursing home took a cue from school celebrations to add excitement to every day of Nurses Week. The coordinator organized a Spirit Week with different themes each day. Nurses enjoyed Pajama Day with donuts and muffins, T-Shirt Day with Positive Promotions Stylus Pens as gifts, and Hawaiian Day with a catered luau lunch. Make Nurses Week special for the only nurse on staff

A homeless shelter had just one nurse to monitor and care for all the veterans who stay there. Her colleagues were aware of Nurses Week and made sure her dedication and compassion were recognized. On National Nurses Day, a special meeting was held in the dining area, during which staff and residents took turns sharing how much they appreciate the nurse. As the nurse opened the Positive Promotions gifts that were purchased for her, her eyes filled with tears, a staff member said.
